Valentines Day!

So our first Valentines Day being married didn't really go as planned because Alex had Bronchitis :-( Poor guy. But we tried our best :-) and being the awesome guy he is he still took me to dinner at Applebees even though he felt horrible! So here are a few pictures.....

I made this cake that we haven't eaten yet (I want Alex to enjoy it) I made four round chocolate cakes and then used a heart cookie cutter and cut them into hearts. I stacked them using a chocolate fudge frosting inbetween and then poured a chocolate glaze over the top and then added raspberries. We've been picking the berries of and eating them lol :-)

I'm a big fan of Cake Boss on TLC and Buddy the boss has a cooking show now where he shows you really easy recipes and techniques. So I wanted to make chocolate covered strawberries and I got this idea from his show: You dip them in the chocolate and put them in the fridge to harden. Then you get a cake decorating bag and fill it with the white chocolate and cut a tiny tiny bit off the tip of the bag and then drizzle it on the strawberries and it looks awesome!

A picture of all the strawberries. I made plain chocolate ones, chocolate with white chocolate and then chocolate covered in sugared coconut :-)
Another pictures of the cake - it didn't turn out as good looking as I pictured in my head but oh well :-)

Alex got me a bear, chocolate and a very cute card :-)

Ok so I made Alex some coupons and I took pictures of the process.

I bought this pack of paper at Walmart for $5 bucks!

I cute the paper into a size that would fit into the container that I got
My setup
I got this container at the dollar store (LOVE that store)

I printed the coupons out on the computer. These are some of them..... for all you married couples you can get creative ;-)
I glued them onto the patterened paper
Put them in the box and tied ribbon around it!
So easy!
And he loved it :-)

  1. Love your coupon cards and your cake is beautiful!!! The raspberries look so delicious on top and create such a nice affect. I will also say that your chocolate covered strawberries look amazing and I really like the striping...with all these talents of yours you could make money off of catering and you are going to host some pretty amazing parties :)
